Mark Mains started his fire service career, to follow in his father’s footsteps, in 1996 with the Millstone Township Fire Department located in Monmouth County. Mark’s passion for firefighting quickly grew as he rose to the position of Asst. Chief. In 2005 Mark decided to take the next step and became a career firefighter with the Millstone Township Fire District where he currently holds the position of the departments’ engineer. Mark offers a wide variety of skills and talents which include his mechanical background and knowledge of equipment. He holds certification in Foundation Brake and Air Disc Brake training from Transaxle. Mark is a certified in Hale Pump Maintenance and Operations and is Waterous Pump Certified. He is EVT certified and is working towards earning his master EVT certification.
Patrick Howell is a graduate of Lincoln Institute of Technology receiving a diesel mechanic certification and top honors in his class. Patrick followed in his father and brothers footsteps and is a 21 year veteran of the Manchester Township Volunteer Fire Company #1 and had served as the companies Chief Officer for 4 years. Patrick has Sutphen Aerial training and very efficient in annual firetruck preventative maintenance. Patrick also has received his Hale Centrifugal Fire Pump Maintenance and Repair Certification.
Jake Gifford has been working in the automotive industry since the age of 14. He received a full tuition paid scholarship to Automotive Training Center ( Warminster PA campus) upon graduating high school. It was there where he studied automotive and heavy Diesel engine repair training. He also attended 2 years of welding class training from the Ocean County Vocational Technical School. Working for a heavy truck repair center on heavy equipment and machinery gained hands on experience with complete engine, transmission, and differential rebuilds even building complete trucks from the ground up. Jake gained knowledge and skills as a fire apparatus technician for 2 years before coming to Blaze. He has attended Hale fire pump training, Sutphen Aerial training, and received F1 Fire pumps and accessories E.V.T Certifications.
Mark Smith grew up with a dad that was a Master Tech for Chrysler who helped begin his career at a young age in the automotive trade. Having the hands on background in auto mechanics he continued schooling for automotive collision to learn the refinishing side. Mark became a DCA Daimler Chrysler automobiles technician in 2005 and over time an FCA technician when Chrysler and Fiat merged. He is a Level 3 Certified Master Technician and with a background of working on 2500-5500 diesel trucks. On the side Mark would do high performance work on cars and lift kits on trucks , also Tune Time Performance building race cars. Coming from a family background of Hillside firefighters, all professional, Mark followed in their footsteps and is a current firefighter at Manchester FD and Lakehurst FC. He currently holds FCA level 3 and EVT certifications.
